Query Letter Services

What is a query?

Most literary agents and publishers require that authors send them a query letter. A query letter contains a blurb about the plot of your novel, a paragraph about the genre, word count and status of your novel, a paragraph about you and your contact details. You can’t send any attachments with a query, so the query letter is all they have to judge you on!

If your query is well written and your novel interests them, they will request to see more of your work. If not, you will probably get a form rejection letter. Even if you have the world’s best novel, no one will read it if your query letter isn’t fantastic.

 

What services am I offering?

If you provide a synopsis and the first three chapters, I can write your query for you. Alternatively, if you have already written a query yourself, I can assist you in editing it and give you feedback on where it is weak.

The former option will be the quickest and usually the cheapest. However the latter option is a learning process, in which I will attempt to help you understand what needs to be fixed and why, so that in the future you feel confident writing your own queries.

 

Are my services right for you?

If you have been getting consistent rejections from your own queries, or you don’t even know where to start writing your query, then yes, my services are right for you.

If your novel isn’t complete, however, you’re probably being a tad over enthusiastic. It’s best to work on your query letter when you are ready to begin querying!

 

What are my prices?

I charge $50AUD an hour for my services.

If I write your query for you, it will typically take me two hours and cost $100AUD. If you want to work with me in fixing your query together, the price can vary. I will cater to any set budgets.

Payment is required before the delivery of goods.

The payment methods I will accept are:

Paypal
Direct deposit
Money order (in AUD)
Personal Check (if in Australia)

I will not accept cash or overseas checks.
